6367  Hi can you please identify this bug for me? Im renting 2 story townhouse condo ( basment and main floor). I saw multiple of these bugs both upstairs amd downstairs. Initially i thought they were lice but they didnt go away. What is it and How do i get rid of it? Thank you. From: Toronto, North york M2M 0B4 Canada

Number 6367 This is a weevil (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). It’s overall shape is consistent with that of the granary weevils in the genus Sitophilus Click here. Check all your food storage areas for signs of infestation, and discard/destroy any items found to be infested. Keep all infestable dry food items in insect-proof containers or under refrigeration.

Pea or bean weevil

6288 Approximately 20 show up daily on the sunniest window every morning. Started July 30th. I live in Ottawa. They can fly but easy to catch. From Orleans, Ontario 

Number 6288 This is a special kind of leaf beetle (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in the subfamily Bruchinae known as a pea or bean weevil . Their larvae develop in large seeds of legumes such as peas or beans and can be serious pests. Broad-nosed/Short-snouted weevil

6273 Tiny tiny beetle! Half the size in width of a pinky nail. Lime green. Was at falcon lake sunny summer day. He could fly but really didn’t seem to care to. What is he?

6239 Have had thousands of these small beetle looking insects show up through mid to end of May. They are congegrating around our house and shop doorways and garage doors. From Neepawa, Manitoba

Number 6239 – These are broad-nosed/short-snouted weevils (Coleoptera: Curculionidae; subfamily Entiminae). Several species of these will enter buildings in search shelter, but will do no harm there.
