Monitoring Devices
| New Tool will help professionals solve bed bug problems. |

BDS™ is a passive detection device designed for monitoring bedbugs
on a large scale - as part of a proactive inspection/prevention
strategy.
Why Early Detection
Is Key
BDS™ is the first monitor for bedbugs that can be employed on a large
scale as part of an IPM/Early Detection/Ongoing Inspection program.
We were driven to design this first-of-its kind device by simple
economics: the bedbug monitors currently on the market cost from as
“little” as $20-$25 to as much as $600! At these rates, it is difficult
to imagine a large-scale program being used in a 250 room hotel, or a
400 unit apartment complex.
BDS™ is priced at a fraction of these costs, giving pest management
companies the tools to employ a comprehensive inspection and prevention
plan that is focused on early detection.
After a bedbug treatment, BDS™ should be installed to illustrate that
the treatment was effective and to help identify any post-treatment
activity.
How It
Works
BDS™ simulates the conditions that bedbugs consider “perfect
harborage”: tight, dark tunneling and rough woodsy material. (Common
examples are the small grooves of corrugated boxes, mattress creases and
wood furniture.)
Through careful research of bedbug biology, we have developed a trap
that imitates these patterns. If bedbugs are nearby, they are drawn to
the BDS™ and trapped in its patented dot-matrix adhesive.
Where
Is BDS™ Used?
BDS™ is designed as a detection device and should be utilized as a
center point for inspection by a trained pest management professional.
in any place that people congregate.
• Multiple-Unit
Dwellings/Apartment Complexes
• Hotel/lodging locations
• Long-term Care
Facilities/Hospitals
• Offices
• College Dormitories
• Schools/Daycare Facilities
• Restaurants
• Public Transportation
• Storage Facilities
Anywhere people inhabit or frequent.
Is BDS™ Foolproof?
A “negative” reading on a BDS™
monitor does not necessarily guarantee that there
are no bedbugs.
BDS™ is designed to be ONE PART of the strategy
to combat and manage bedbugs. It can provide you
with valuable information, such as where bedbugs may
be harboring, and it can confirm beyond any doubt
that bedbugs are present.
Where can you
purchase?
The BDS™ system is
being shipped in early June to pest professional
suppliers across Canada. Pest professionals
who deal with bed bugs should have the product ready
for installation by the end of June.
