reproductive termite

6129  What is this?  Found him crawling on the kitchen floor and it’s about 1.5cm long and is a reddish brown colour. We are in the Fraser Valley and it’s early September. Thanks Andy.

This is a reproductive termite that has shed its wings; it looks like a Pacific dampwood termite, Zootermopsis angusticollis (Blattodea: Archotermopsidae).  Unlike subterranean termites, these seldom cause any damage to structures.
